Hello world, it’s good to meet you!

So I’ve finally got this blog up and running- after threatening to do so for so long now! This year brings a lot of changes to my life and I’ve decided that life’s too short to just talk the talk: Instead I’m going to walk the walk!  I want to be a writer and this is a way to write more than just shopping lists and job-related writing. It’s a kick up the jacksy to get me in writing mode, so I can progress to unleashing the books in my head! It’s time to stop dwelling on what might have been and past mistakes. Life is for living.

I’ve had a burning desire to be a published author for many years now- and no more do I say “one day I’ll write….” or ” when the kids are grown up”. The time to do is now:  and also,  I’m not getting any younger! After all, this is not a dress rehearsal and the last thing I want later in life is to be filled with regret for the things I didn’t do!  I plan to have lots to write about, because I am the only one who can change my life: it’s me who has to get up and go places, meet people and do things! If you want to change some things in your life, you’ve got to change some things in your life. And the beginning of a new year is a good place to start.

So to introduce myself, my name is Pam and I am a fifty-something mental health nurse, who finds herself single with grown up children and the urge to find both myself and inner peace! Oh, and finding my soul mate along the way would be good, too!  I have never suffered from the ’empty nest syndrome’ and have brought up balanced and confident children, who I’ve encouraged to go after their dreams. I plan to write my books now and to merrily blog away on various topics, which will feature my interests, travels, spirituality and about having a positive mental attitude. As well as this,  may even review the odd book, product and place I visit.

And of course I’ll be evaluating life as a 50-something woman who had imagined her life was going to be a lot more different to this. Those ‘happily ever after’ fairy tales we read as a child do lead us females up the garden path! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my musings, ponderings and tales from life as an English lady ‘ooop north’ . Please feel free to drop me a line if you’ve liked anything, found a topic  interesting- and especially if I have helped you in any way at all.
